In an instant, the Holy Spirit healed both my knees!
Laid up in a hotel room on a business trip, legs stretched out in front of me, I had worn out my two injured knees (one damaged in a bad ice-fall and the other hyperextended on a trampoline) walking the hills of San Fransisco the two days’ prior. I have been familiar with lots of energy-type healing, including reiki, in researching modalities for my alternative health book, Med Free Bipolar, but I had never experienced God’s healing touch until this moment. It was like every healing story in the New Testament came alive in my hotel room. It was like I was blind and now I saw!
Watching some Todd White street healing videos, he prayed for some guys’ knee on the street. SO weird, but cool I thought! Then, fire (hot, but not painful) and tingling, came over both my knees at once in a very distinct sensation, and both my knees were healed, instantly, while watching some dude pray for someone else’s knee! The room filled with peace and joy in that moment, like a sliver of Heaven had opened up. I got up, gingerly squatted down without pain, and then looked like a Russian Cossack dancer squatting all over the hotel room testing out my new knees and whooping! No one but the Holy Spirit could have touched my knees to heal them like that! That was in April 2017, and they are still very much healed!
In my book, I try to take a more diplomatic, journalistic (meaning non-biased) approach to talking about reiki, but in my blog, let me make myself very clear: I do NOT like Reiki, and think it comes with a litany of spiritual side effects that Believer’s and non-Beleiver’s should steer very clear from. Comparing that healing to my experiences with reiki are night and day. I can tell when people are using reiki energy on me, I don’t exactly know how to describe it, but I will try. Typically, when someone is using reiki, they will ask permission to touch you, and then may cradle your neck in their hands. When this has happened (when I have unwittingly given permission in a massage, or cranial sacral therapy, or a ‘chiropractic warm-up massage’, I can ‘see’ (as in seeing in the Spirit), a cord being set up, almost like an umbilical cord, burrowing it’s way to attach, and feel tingling or buzzing at the base of my head where I can ‘see’ the cord. Once, after this happened, I took my fingers and symbolically cut it off, rebuking it in the name of Jesus. The tingling and burrowing sensation stopped. Some people may call this a ley-line. I do not have all the answers about these, but I have seen them many times. How do I SEE? I am a biblical SEER, someone who God has opened the Spirit eyes of my heart (as opposed to third-eye soul sight). I also have a very strong Gift of Discerning Spirits, but I am not immune to deception myself, no one is.
Another time I experienced, reiki was incorporated into the session by a cranial sacral therapist, whose intentions were very good, but something came into me, shrouded my brain, and even caused me to physically pass out behind the wheel of my car and hit the person in front of me! I was actually consciously resisting what felt like a veil being lowered inside my brain, right before I lost consciousness! (I know, I am just soooo weird!) This was within just a couple hours of the session, but I knew it was related to my first session with her. From then on, my judgement was so shrouded for the next several months that I kept going back to her like I was addicted, even when my husband insisted for me to have nothing to do with her! I usually trust his judgement, but I became very belligerent and even had some personality changes until I had to undergo a full-on deliverance session with Jesus (that story in my book or other blogs!) So what is Reiki, and how could this happen?
Reiki – According to the dictionary, reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch (or even long-distance), to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.” Reiki incorporates the use of “spirit guides” and “beings of light” to channel this energy through the practitioner into the client.
According to proponents of Reiki, “In treating yourself and others: ‘Reiki psychic surgery can be especially helpful…there are higher sources of help you can call on. Angels, beings of light and Reiki spirit guides as well as your own enlightened self are available to help you. They can help you develop your Reiki practice by directing clients to you and assisting with treatments. They can be of great benefit, but you must have a strong spiritual intention for your work if you are to recruit their aid.'” (www.reiki.org)
Now reiki is “coming standard” as training in most massage schools, and a lot of people who practice massage are also using energy work on you oftentimes without you knowing it. After even being lied to a couple of times, I now have to ask “Oh, do you do Reiki?” in a hopeful tone of voice, or I may just get lied to, only to see/feel it being done to me later (most people can’t feel this like I can).
The history of reiki comes from Buddhist texts, among others, through Dr. Mikao Usui. He was an adopted missionary kid, who was fascinated by Jesus’ power to perform miracles, but instead of seeking the Holy Spirit, he chased after eastern mystic texts, and now Reiki uses occultic symbols, atunements, and invocations of spirit guides.
I have had several experiences with Reiki and not a one of them has been pleasant, but I do know people who have had beautiful and peaceful experiences, although the enemy has quite the false serenity that is very powerful.
Is there such a thing as Christian Reiki? No. I do not believe so, and nor do I believe it should be “redeemed” for the Kingdom. We already have access to the power of the Holy Spirit and partnering with Heaven’s angels who harken to the Word of the Lord. We do not need to invoke other guides, ascended masters, astral beings, higher selfs, or attempt to “redeem reiki”.
Think these are benevolent guides, “of the light”, so they say? I encourage you to read the true story: Betrayed by Her Guardian Angel by Stacie Spielman; here is a little excerpt: “In a state of shock, Eve mouthed Saul’s name, dreading to hear his answer. “Saul?” she said in a quivery voice, “Are you a dark one too?”
“I’m afraid so,” Saul murmured. His voice in Eve’s mind was soft – not loud and insulting as Gideon’s had been. Through her mind’s eye, Eve could see his face with its brown skin and soulful brown eyes. In her mind, he looked the same as before – distinguished yet playful; wise; handsome, with his closely cropped crown of white hair; and oh so very loving. Yet he had just admitted to being a demon! “I wish I could say I weren’t. But I am.”
I do not believe all energy work is bad, however, and things like the BEMER, Riffe machines, sound & frequency devices (like the Qwest and Asyra), tuning forks, and more can have benefits at the cellular level. YHWH spoke us into existence, and science has confirmed that all matter is made up of sound and frequency, I just don’t want a stranger’s spirit guide’s involved in channeling those energies without informed consent.

Want a reiki-free massage therapist? I know several who opted out of the reiki classes in massage school and were still allowed to graduate, so just ask if you do not want this done to you. But be careful, some of them are very sneaky as I have found out the hard way! Remember, our job is to be discerning, not judging, and if you are someone who practices Reiki, ask the Lord to show you the truth, and the truth will set you free! The Holy Spirit’s healing is complete and does not come with a hidden agenda or price to pay later. Blessings!
