“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity” (Col. 3:5–14).
When sin entered the world, it was soon about clothing. Clothing is much more than a metaphor, it is a weapon. God is wanting us to be very aware of this weapon in this season. Genesis 3:1-13 shows us that physical nakedness was not the sin in the Garden of Eden, and Adam’s solution of making fig leaves as covering of nakedness was not the solution either. God made the first animal sacrifice to create a covering for the sin of mankind. It was the first atonement, and a way to reestablish covenant with God. In Genesis 35:2, Jacob instructs his household to put on clean clothing prior to making covenant with God.
Now, Jesus is our atoning sacrifice and covering, but we have not understood this fully. We are entering into a new Time of Covenant with YHVH, and it is time for NEW Clothes, and a new understanding of what IN the NAME of Jesus means. We are to put on His body and blood like a mantle, a SUIT, and climb inside of Him like a wardrobe closet. Revelation 19:7-8, 14 describes this as putting on Christ, our Righteousness.
I have been hearing the Spirit of the Lord say all year: “Wake UP! Look UP! Come UP!!”
Now I am hearing: “SUIT UP”! (and I am not the only one!)
But first, get undressed. Get naked. Yep. We are to strip down. Rip off, cut off, tear off those Garments that smell of smoke and sulphur. The enemy has donated a lot of clothes to the Body of Christ in this season, and you have put them on because you thought they were free. Pull off all offense, anxiety, fear, idolatry, depression; fear of death, get off! Strip off the shirt of anger, pants of malice, mask of slander and filthy language (yes, even that!). We are to strip off all sin like old wallpaper. I see renovations happening in every room of our temple. Put down ALL sexual immorality, ALL masturbation, ALL unclean thoughts, all of it! Take off all racism (Revelation 7:9-10), favoritism, elitism, sexism. Take off those garments of heaviness! You are so weighted down you can’t GO UP! It is time to SUIT UP!
Exodus 19:10-14 “When Moses told the words of the people to the Lord, the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments and be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of the people’. . . So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people; and they washed their garments.”
This is not a season to wash dirty clothes, sin entangling, soiled garments, it is a refiner’s season– where every filthy thing goes into the fire. These new clothes are from a new dimension.
We are entering into the “Third Day” season of the Lord, and it is time to consecrate yourselves once again. Put down your filthy rags, quit spending time trying to wash them, and get dressed for battle, a war is on the horizon.
Those Churches and Believers who do not COME UP and ACCESS the WARDROBE ROOMS OF HEAVEN, will have a “spirit of Ichabod” placed like a blanket over them to cover their nakedness in this season. The term Ichabod means God has departed. In this season we will need to be hidden in Jesus, our coat of many stripes, in order to move and breath and have our being.
So what do these garments look like? What am I seeing in the Spirit? What should we COME UP and PICK OUT? They are layers of light, adornments of many jewels, sheaths of many weapons, armor of light, fabric of gossamer, chainmail of silk, and the more you put on, the lighter the yoke. Read Ephesians 6. This armor is not heavy, it is to be used in rest, in prayer, in worship, in warfare seated in heavenly places. What are you to put on?
Put on the full armor of God + Christ our Righteousness, a Garment of Praise, Discipline (Hebrews 12), be clothed in Strength & Dignity, Laughter, No fear of future (Proverbs 31:25), FAITH, a gentle and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:3-4), purity, modesty and self-control, godliness & good works (1 Timothy 2:9-10), white garments with oil on your head (Ecclesiastes 9:8), the strength of His power, (Ephesians 6:10) Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience, Forgiveness, Unity, Honor, and above all, LOVE (Colossians 3:1-14).
There are two coverings of clothing that are mentioned in Scripture. There is an outer garment called a cloak and there is an inner coat called raiment. The inner coat is called raiment and it is described in Revelation 3:5 as what we are clothed in by God when we believe Jesus came in the flesh. It was the same clothing that is our righteousness that we saw in Revelation 19:7-8 and Revelation 19:14. It is also the same as what the seven angels wore in Revelation 15:6.
God is preparing our cloak. I believe this cloak will look like a coat of many colors, shining from the inside out, and is similar to the rainbow around the throne that is the light of God. (More on this later). If YOU are not righteous, then YOU will literally be naked. This connection to nakedness is found in Revelation 3:18 and Revelation 16:15, which warns people to wait upon the Lord to receive and keep their garments of faith, lest you be found naked!
Lastly, STAND FIRM!! Let nothing move you! (1 Corinthians 15:58) When you are standing INSIDE of Jesus, know that you LOOK good, smell good, and can advance on the enemy in this next season of war.
